Newtown manager Bernard McNally now knows exactly how big his problem is at Latham Park after watching his new side crash to a record 9-2 defeat at Llanelli.
The Robins sit bottom of the table and have already leaked 20 goals in their opening six Welsh Premier League matches but McNally couldn’t have seen this result coming.
Former Newtown favourite Craig Moses hit a hat-trick as did Rhys Griffiths while another rex-Newtown man Chris Venables notched twice. Craig Williams got the other goal.
Newtown replied through Jamie Price and Nick Rushton and to add to their woes Price was sent off on 71 minutes for a second yellow card.
There were no such problems for Caersws who bounced back following a couple of bad results to ruthlessly see off Guilsfield in the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance.
Mark Griffiths and Richard Evans gave the Bluebirds a 2-0 half time lead. Griffiths struck again after the break and there was a brace from Rob Evans to rub salt into the wound.
Llanrhaeadr are beginning to find their feet and gained another point with a home 1-1 draw with Penrhyncoch. Ben Wright was on target for the villagers with Marc Gornall replying.
Welshpool went down 2-0 to Bow Street in the Spar Mid Wales League. The division one clash saw the Lilywhites improving from their last two performances but they went behind following a defensive mix up and despite having plenty of the ball in the second half could not stop the visitors increasing their lead.
Berriew went down 1-0 to Newbridge while Montgomery continue to find scoring easy with a 6-0 win over Dolgellau.
Dyffryn Banw lost 3-1 at Carno and Waterloo crashed 2-0 at Builth Wells. In the other match Rhayader could only draw 1-1 at Tywyn/Bryncrug.
In the second division Llanfair came home from Rhosgoch 8-0 winners, thanks to goals from Geraint Jones 4, Ross Frame 3 and Matthew Spence.
Abermule lost 6-0 at Knighton, and Kerry shared the points at Tregaron, drawing 1-1. Four Crosses won 4-2 at Presteigne and Meifod went down again, losing heavily 6-0 at home to Llandrindod. Llanfyllin lost 3-2 at Talgarth.
