Caersws became the first winners of the Ardal North League Cup yesterday.
The Bluebirds are finishing the season in style and lifted the trophy at Penycae by beating Mold Alexandra by a single goal from Glynn Coney just four minutes into the second half.
The villagers were forced to defend stubbornly as Mold pressed for an equaliser but found keeper Steffan Harri and man-of-the-match Matt Mumford in outstanding form.
The win sets-up Caersws nicely for their end-of-season promotion play-off match.
Llanidloes saw off Penrhyncoch Reserves with a 4-1 victory to clinch the FAW Central Reserve League title with goals from Matt Savage, Gregg Brown, Mason Jones and Joshua Baldwin. Harry Jones responded for the Roosters.
Penparcau Reserves stormed to a 7-0 win at Caersws Reserves on Friday night.
