Caersws book play-off spot
Caersws have secured a place in the Lock Stock Ardal North East play-off final.
The Bluebirds registered a brilliant end-of-season 2-1 win over league champions Chirk at the Recreation Ground today to clinch second place ahead of Cefn Albion and Llanfair Caereinion.
A fine Luke Mumford header and a superb lobbed winner from Craig Harris were enough to give the Bluebirds the points.
It proved to be a bad day for Llanfair as they were beaten 3-1 in the final of the General Tire Montgomeryshire Cup by Llanidloes Town.
Clarke gave the Daffs the lead on the half hour and Dafydd Carruthers doubled the score after 62 minutes. Max McLaughlin gave Llanfair fresh hope with an 81st reply and three minutes later Josh Astley should have levelled but missed from the penalty spot.
Elliot Jones ensured the silverware went back to Victoria Avenue with an injury time third to signal huge celebrations.
