Things going wrong for Newtown

It’s all going wrong for Newtown in the JD Cymru Premier after the Robins looked set to be the biggest challengers to The New Saints at Christmas.

They went down 2-0 to Bala at Latham Park last night following their 2-0 setback against Connah’s Quay last week.

The Robins were hit by selection problems but held on until just before the half time whistle when Nathan Peate headed home a Lassana Mendes corner.

Newtown were much improved after the break and came close to levelling before Will Evans set-up Chris Venables to put the game beyond the home side’s reach.
