On a dramatic transfer deadline day for Newtown, one of its players walked away from a car wreck and decided enough was enough.
Worcester-based Ben Evans reportedly smashed up his car on Tuesday night after training and although uninjured, decided that the travelling to Mid Wales was not worth it and has left the club.
Manager Bernie McNally also lost 18 year-old Ashley Wells who, like Evans, joined from Shrewsbury Town in the summer but he has welcomed on board four new signings.
Max Penk and Nick Rushton have joined on loan from Wrexham while striker, Marcus Ashley, has signed from The New Saints. Also arriving is left sided Connor Courtney from Wellington.
