Historic day at Latham Park

Saturday is a massive day for Newtown Football Club with the Latham Park outfit celebrating its 1,000^th game in top-flight Welsh Football.

The Robins have enjoyed an unbroken spell of 1,000 games in the JD Cymru Premier League, which was formerly known as the League of Wales.

Many of the club’s former players are expected to be at the ground on Saturday when Newtown entertain Haverfordwest in the historic fixture.

The only other club to have achieved the 1,000 fixture mark is Aberystwyth Town who defeated Haverfordwest 2-0 at Park Avenue earlier this month.
