Sears snatched late equaliser

Newtown needed a 95^th minute Ryan Sears equaliser to secure a JD Cymru League point at Cardiff Met.

The Robins trailed to an 18^th minute Sam Jones goal which was created by former Robin Adam Roscrow and looked to have lost until deep in injury time.

The equaliser sparked scenes of celebration as Sears volleyed home from a Jake Walker cross to take a point back to Mid Wales.

Llanfair are now two points clear at the top of the Lock Stock Ardal NorthEast League after Josh Astley destroyed Four Crosses with a six goal salvo.

Astley netted twice in the first half and Nyasha Mwamuka made it 3-0 at the break. Astley scored four more before being substituted and Mwamuka and Owain James completed the scoring to see the Mount Field side run out 9-0 winners.

Caersws did Llanfair a favour by coming from behind to shock high flying Chirk 3-2. Chirk led through Lewis Clamp and Dale Davies but Ian Probert pulled one back for the Bluebirds on 68 minutes before Neil Mitchel (72) and Luke Evans (77) secured the win.

Berriew were also in the goals on Friday night beating Corwen 7-0 in the Ardal North East League. Joe Haycock and Ed Baker made it 2-0 at the break and Haycock completed his hat-trick in the second half with further goals from Richard Davies and Stefan Rogers and an own goal.

It was a day tyo forget for Kerry who were trounced 13-0 by Cefn Albion.
