Forden on the brink of folding

01/09/2011 @ 12:28
Forden’s return to senior football looks set to be a brief affair after clouds of uncertainty hovered over the village today.

Rumours circulated last night that the club was on the brink of folding due to the unavailability of a pitch, and as the football world was glued to Sky Sports for the closure of the transfer window, there were big names moving locally that failed to make the sky news ticker.

Last night, Guilsfield Reserves manager Oli Morgan confirmed the signings of Forden manager Adam Knight and star striker Luke Weaver.

Montgomeryshire Amateur League secretary Bernie Jones was last night unable to confirm the club’s status but it now seems unlikely that the club will fulfil its fixture this weekend.

Forden rejoined the Amateur League after Knight’s departure from Welshpool Town in the summer and started with two defeats on the road, losing 3-2 in midweek to fellow reformed club Newtown Wanderers.
