Defeat is blow to Euro hopes

Newtown suffered a real blow last night in their bid for a place in Europe, going down to a single goal at Bala.

Sitting in second place in the JD Cymru League ahead of kick-off The Robins never really got to grips with a determined home side who were more dominant than the scoreline suggests.

The only goal of the game came on the stroke of half time through Will Evans who netted after Sean Smith and Keiran Smith had combined to create the chance.

Newtown failed to test home keeper Alex Ramsey and Bala looked to have doubled their lead through Ollie Shannon only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
