Division One champions Llanidloes Reserves suffered a heavy midweek defeat at the hands of Caersws Resreves to show the Montgomeryshire Amateur League could be in for a wide open season.
But as Llanidloes were losing 7-2, goals from Mike Roberts and James Whittaker helped Llangedwyn beat newly promoted Llanrhaeadr Reserves 2-1.
A Steve Tomkins double helped Llansantffraid Reserves win 3-2 at Berriew Reserves two from Nick Jones helped Carno Reserves beat Bettws 3-2.
Newtown Reserves’ return to football ended on a losing note when the Robins went down 2-0 at Abermule Reserves with goals from Sam Jones and Steff Rowlands.
Forden’s return also ended on a downward note after they lost 3-2 at Kerry Reserves with goals from Ashley Owen, Neal Bebb and Luke Mumford.
Llanfair Reserves beat Newtown Wanderers 3-2 with goals from Aled Haynes, Austin Oliver and Ian Richards. Two from Ash Hilditch helped Four Crosses Reserves win 5-1 at Waterloo Colts.
