Montgomery masterclass sinks Pool

Welshpool Town’s return to the Spar Mid Wales League proved to be a tough night as they were hit for six by Montgomery on Wednesday night.
 
Three goals in each half did the damage as Montgomery showed the dedent sized crowd just why they are many people’s favourites for the league as they stretched their unbeaten run to 26 matches.
 
But it is Rhayader who go top after they extended their 100 per cent record with a 2-1 win at early season leaders Newbridge-on-Wye.
 
Struggling Dyffryn Banw produced a shock at Waterloo Rovers with a 1-0 win while Carno and Berriew finished 1-1.
 
On Tuesday night, Llanidloes Town slipped up at home 3-2 at Builth Wells.
 
In Division Two, a hat-trick from Ross Frame helped Llanfair United beat Meifod 6-0 while Llanfyllin celebrated their first points of the season with a 6-3 win over nine-man Four Crosses.
 
In the big local derby, Abermule got a point with a 1-1 draw at near neighbours Kerry with both goalscoming in the first half of a hard fought game.
