Newtown’s run of success in the JD Cymru League came to an end in Haverfordwest yesterday.
The Robins retained third place in the table after slipping to an unexpected 1-0 defeat, conceding a 26th minute goal from Touray Sisay.
It was a bad day for Berriew too in the Lock Stock Ardal North East League as they went down 2-0 to high-flying Chirk. Louie Middlehurst and Dale Davies did the damage with a goal in each half for the visitors.
Llanfair got back on track with a 3-2 win over Penycae. James McVeagh got the home side off to a good start with a seventh minute goal only to see Evans level the scores on 17 minutes and Zac Davies put the visitors ahead on 52 minutes.
Karl Seliartes put Llanfair ahead again on 55 minutes and Mwamuka made it 3-1 with a winner in the 75th.
