Bluebirds win at Welshpool
A brace of goals from Neil Mitchell helped Caersws put Welshpool Town out of the Lock Stock Ardal Northern League Cup at The Maesydre Recreation Ground last night.
Mitchell caught Welshpool cold with a third minute opener and although Pool levelled through Ricky Litchfield on 56 minutes Luke Mumford restored the villagers’ lead a minute later.
And Mitchell sealed the win with a controversial 71st minute goal, netting from a Mumford c ross after the referee allowed the Bluebirds to take a quick free kick even though he was still talking to Welshpool players at the time.
Kerry are also through after beating Machynlleth 5-3 with goals from Jones (2), Andrew, Mainwairing and Richards. Machynlleth missed two penalties but repolied through Jones (2) and Auf Den Kamp.
