Robins' European dream is over

Newtown gave a much better account of themselves in the second leg of their Europa Conference League two-header with Dundalk but their European dream is over.

The Robins had a mountain to climb after going down 4-0 in Ireland last week and were beaten 1-0 at Park Hall, Oswestry tonight.

Newtown were forced to play at the home of the New Saints when the Latham Park headquarters failed European regulations and put up[ a much better performance.

But they couldn’t find a way through a very well drilled Dundalk defence and conceded themselves when Michael Duffy ran through unchallenged to score the only goal on 51 minutes.
