Newtown Football Club has announced the appointment of two new directors ahead of a return to European football.

The club’s website confirms the appointments of Nick Evans (pictured top) and Kevin Speake (pictured bottom) to the board of directors.

Nick Evans joins the board as Director of Operations while Kevin Speake becomes Director of Football at Latham Park.

Nick is no stranger to Newtown having been a lifelong supporter and will now take responsibility for overseeing all things operational at the football club.

He will be assisting the board to set an ambitious vision for the club, both on and off the field, with clear and defined targets. Strengthening the clubs brand positioning and engagement levels with the local community and businesses will be prioritised.

Nick currently coaches in the Newtown Academy U13’s but is better known as being Managing Director of locally based civil engineering company, EvaBuild. His underlying passion is for placing Mid Wales firmly on the map of Wales.

Kevin’s new role as Director of Football will see him take responsibility for every aspect of football at the club.

He will be working closely with the first team management team to ensure a strategy that meets the club’s ambitions, driving improved performance on and off the pitch, whilst also laying good foundations to build on for the future.

Kevin will also oversee the academy, an integral part of the club’s future plans, with the intention to improve the standards across all aspects of the academy and to ensure integration of academy players into the first team in the future.

Kevin has a successful background, in both football and business, which will bring fresh knowledge, experience and energy that can only help the club move forward. Football wise he has enjoyed success developing, managing, and coaching at all levels of football and spent several years working with Shrewsbury Town Academy.
