Newtown are off on another European adventure after beating Caernarfon 5-3 in the Welsh Premier League play-off final today.

The lead changed hands as the game flowed from end to end with the Robins eventually running out 5-3 winners to secure a place in the Europa Conference.

Caernarfon led on 17 minutes when Jack Kenny chipped over advancing goalkeeper Dave Jones but Newtown were back on terms on 37 minutes when Alex Fletcher's sent Lufimpa Mwandwe clear and he was brought down by goalkeeper Lewis Brass. Nick Rushton netted from the penalty spot.

And the Robins were ahead before the break when Brass failed to hold a shot from Rushton and Mwandwe popped the ball in.

Darren Thomas put Caernarfon back into the game on the hour and on 73 minutes Thomas struck again to give Caernarfon a glimpse of Europe until Newtown manager Chris Hughes introduced substitutes James Davies and Jamie Breese.

Davies quickly headed the Robins level and then fired his side ahead at 4-3. Brass then denied Davies a hat-trick only to see Breese scramble home the rebound.
