Setback for Robins

Newtown missed out on a golden opportunity to open up a comfortable lead at the top of Group B in the Cymru Premier League, losing 3-2 at home to 10-man Cardiff Met.

It looked like normal service at Latham Park as Tyrone Ofori gave The Robins the lead after only just a minute but Lewis Rees levelled for the Students four minutes later and on 54 minutes Ollie Hulbert put the Cardiff side ahead.

The Students were reduced to 10 men on 66 minutes when Emlyn Jones Lewis was shown a red card and Nick Rushton netted from the penalty spot.

Newtown looked likely to go on to secure the points but Cardiff Met netted a winner through and Elliot Evans penalty on 77 minutes.
