Huws Gray Alliance sides Guilsfield and Caersws eased past Shropshire opposition last night as clubs stepped up their pre-season friendly schedules.
A hat-trick from new signing Will Thomas saw Guilsfield beat Hanwood 6-2 while new signing Rob Evans was among the scorers as Caersws beat Shawbury 4-0.
Elsewhere, Spar Division One side Llanidloes overcame an impressive looking Llanfair United 2-0. Division Two side Llanfair are looking strong this season and also pushed last year’s top flight runners up Berriew at the weekend, eventually going down 3-1 as Josh Gethin, Rhydian Morris and Martin Ziemann scored.
Waterloo Rovers were in the goals as they beat Abermule 8-4. Llansantffraid Village have been busy with two friendlies, losing 2-0 to Huws Gray Alliance outfit Cefn Druids, but beating Cefn United 4-0.
Llanfyllin lost 7-3 to a strong Morda side at the weekend before recording a 5-0 victory over Trefonen on Sunday with Steve Laws scoring four.
Dyffryn Banw took the Edgar Jones Memorial Cup with a 1-0 win over Llanrhaeadr at COBRA at the weekend.
