Robins win at The Rock

Newtown moved five points clear of the JD Cymru League relegation trapdoor thanks to a six-goal first half at Cefn Druids last night.

The Robins led 4-2 at half time after an exciting 45 minutes at The Rock and that was how the scores remained.

Jordan Evans netted after just four minutes and Lifumpa Mwandwe doubled the score 10 minutes later. But Druids shocked Newtown by hitting back through former Latham Park man Nial Flint on 28 and 38 minutes.

Evans then restored Newtown’s lead before Tyrone Ofari made it 4-2 just before half time.

The second half was a quitter affair with neither side managing to find the net with the win taking the Robins up to eighth place.
