Covid stops all football in Mid Wales

21/12/2020 @ 08:32

All football in Mid Wales has been shut down following the announcement from the First Minister, placing Wales into Alert Level 4.

Original information was that the top leagues would be given “elite” status but there was bad news today that all football must stop.

Sport Wales has now told the FA of Wales that the “elite” status granted to JD Cymru Premier League along with JD Cymru North & South has been rescinded

As a result, all fixtures and activities involving non-fully professional clubs are to be postponed until further notice. The JD Cymru Leagues will make a separate announcement as to whether any fixtures involving fully professional clubs can take place during this period.

The decision has been made in the context of the rapidly developing public health crisis here in Wales. The elite status designation will be automatically re-instated under lower Alert Levels.

The FAW previously announced on December 19 that all football activity below the leagues detailed above would be suspended during Alert Level 4.
