Easter final returns for Mont Cup

Clubs failing to fulfil Montgomeryshire Cup ties next season will be fined as officials introduce strict new rules in a bid to bring back some sparkle into the fading competition.

The Cup has fallen into a bit of a farce over the past two years as it slips down the priorities for clubs, but this week it was decided to bring in new guidelines and aim for an Easter Monday final.

In the past, crowds in excess of 2,000 people watched the Easter Monday finals at Welshpool.

As all officers were re-elected en bloc, a new timetable for matches were released which also give clubs permission to play their first round pre-season.

Round 1 - before Tuesday August 30th 2011

Round 2 - Before Monday Sept 26th 2011

Round 3 - Before Monday Nov 28th 20111

Semi Final - Before Monday Feb 6th 2012
