It’s been a busy week for Berriew who have followed up the reforming of their reserve side with the signing of Welshpool Town skipper Sam Evans, but losing a key striker.
Evans (left), the son of Town legend Ian, will officially join The Rhiewsiders once the FAW registration window opens.
The 20-year-old midfielder said: “It was time for a change, and Berriew was the perfect club. I know DJ (manager Dave Jones - right) and a lot of the players, and I can’t wait to get started and hopefully help the side win more silverware.”
With the restructuring of Tier 3 this summer, the 2020/2021 season promises to be a tough test for local clubs who could find themselves in a new North East league which will include sides from the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area).
But should Berriew join the new set-up, they will be without striker Charlie Humphreys who has returned to former club Abermule after two fruitful seasons.
