Become a ref for just £25

08/04/2020 @ 11:58

Anyone missing their footballing fix under the current restrictions could have a look at becoming a qualified referee after the Football Association of Wales (FAW) slashed their online course fees.

For just £25, instead of the normal £80, participants can take a course written by experts at the FAW which enables them to work their way through the 17 Laws of the Game by watching real life scenarios, answering quizzes and taking part in discussions.

“After you’ve completed the five sections you’ll be given the opportunity to showcase your knowledge by taking part in an exam,” said a spokesperson.

“Once you’ve passed that you’ll be invited to a local centre for a final face to face session (once the restrictions are lifted), here you’ll meet your local area refereeing representatives and have the chance to ask any pressing questions.

“You’ll need to attend this session to qualify as a referee so attendance is key.”

The next sessions for Central Wales are (Coronavirus permitting):

May 31 - Newtown FC (11am)

August 30 - Newtown FC (11am)
