Caersws, Guilsfield and Llanrhaeadr have been given Christmas off in what could be the first sign that football chiefs are contemplating a winter break.
The Huws Gray Alliance fixtures have been released and show that following the December 17 round of matches, the next game will take place on January 2.
We have not been made aware of whether the normally lucrative Boxing Day fixtures will be filled by cup matches but the signs are there that league chiefs are contemplating a break.
However it won’t be an easy start to the season for the local clubs.
Caersws face champions Gap Connah’s Quay and travel to Buckley a week later while new boys Llanrhaeadr take on Cefn Druids on the opening day and Guilsfield travel to Rhyl.
