Newtown and Llanidloes face tough home fixtures on Saturday when they welcome two Division Two North teams in form, writes Gary Williams from Oval Zone Rugby.

Newtown host current leaders Rhyl who are in a rich vein of form, and Llanidloes have unbeaten promotion favourites Wrexham as their visitors to Cae Hafren.

Based on current results, both Mid Wales sides will need to be at the top of their game to cause upsets but both are capable of fine performances when at full strength.

It’s another away trip for Welshpool as they head to Shotton Steel looking for a win which will allow them to leapfrog their opponents in the league table.

Sitting level on 25 points in sixth and seventh in Division Two North, Pool’s coach, Dave Roberts, knows that this is a game that they need to win if his side are going to finish in the top five.

In Division One North, COBRA face the daunting task of travelling to Llandudno and hoping to become the first team to claim the scalp of the unbeaten runaway league leaders.
