No stopping Llanidloes

Llanidloes Town continued their march to the MMP Mid Wales League title with a 5-0 win at Llansantffraid.

The victory maintains their 13-point advantage at the top of the league with just over a third of the season to come.

Montgomery Town returned from Tywyn Bryncrug with a 2-0 win, and new manager Gary Jones earned a point from Carno’s 1-1 draw against Four Crosses.

Waterloo Rovers were held 1-1 by the students in Division Two, while fifth placed Forden United returned from Presteigne with a 5-0 win.

Newtown’s quest for a top six spot when the JD Cymru Premier splits in two is still on track despite a 2-0 defeat against leaders TNS.

Despite the defeat, the Robins are still sixth, and if successful it would be their fifth top six sport in six seasons.

Welshpool Town have booked their spot in the last eight of the FAW Trophy.

A 4-2 win at Radnor Valley sent them through, and they will be our only local representatives after Berriew were knocked out by Llandudno Albion on penalties.

Llanfair United put in a decent performance at home to Gresford Athletic, but a 3-0 defeat leaves them at the foot of the JD Cymru North table, while weather got the better of Llanrhaeadr’s match with Colwyn Bay.
