Let the silly season commence!

The Football Association of Wales opens the ‘signing season’ today with June 3 being the first official day that players can put pen to paper for 2011/12.

Forms won’t be accepted by the FAW until June 8, but league secretaries are permitted to sign up players from today’s date, which is set to spark a frenzy of activity commonly known as the ‘silly season’.

The managerial madness has already started with Newtown switching Andy Cale for Darren Ryan while Technogroup Welshpool and Waterloo Rovers have vacant positions. Player loyalties across the area will be tested to the limit.
