Evans in league team-of-the-year

Former Newtown goalkeeper David Jones has been named as the Huws Gray Alliance’s outstanding goalkeeper for the past season, and has been acknowledged along with Caersws star Graham Evans (right).

The big stopper made a name for himself in goal for Technogroup Welshpool during their torrid first six months before switching to home club Guilsfield in March.

Jones continued his good form there to be named in the league’s team-of-the-season along with midfielder Evans.

The team is compiled from the number of man-of-the-match votes throughout the season and includes three players from league winners Connah’s Quay Nomads, who had striker Gary O’Toole named as Player-of-the-Season.
