Newtown crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Bala in the JD Cymru League last night with Louis Robles grabbing a hat-trick.
The Lakesiders took the lead on 13 minutes when they were awarded a free kick after Robles was toppled on the edge of the box. Henry Jones stepped up and whipped the ball into the left-hand side of the net.
It was 2-0 on 39 minutes when a break down the right by Chris Venables saw him find the unmarked Robles, whose brilliant connection with the ball proved too good for the keeper.
Two fine stops from Bala keeper Josh Tibbetts thwarted the Robins early in the second half and The Robins were down to 10 men on 52 minutes when George Harry was sent off for an altercation with Tibbetts.
Seven minutes later the hosts struck again when a Jones cross flashed across the face of goal to Robles, who blasted home at the far post.
Bala were a man down themselves on 65 minutes when Lassana Mendes received a second yellow card.
With three minutes left, Robles completed his hat-trick from a rebound after the ball came back off the post following a Steven Leslie delivery.
