Newtown will feel they should have picked the up the full points after a Friday night 1-1 draw with Connah’s Quay Nomads in the JD Cymru Premier.

The Robins took the lead on the stroke of half time through Nick Rushton and had chances to extend, but the visitors levelled for a share of the spoils.

Llanrhaeadr fought back from 2-0 down to pick up three points on the road in the JD Cymru North at Buckley.

Guilsfield too won the road, scoring a goal in each half to beat Gresford 2-0. Llanfair United went down 4-2 at Colwyn Bay.

In the MMP Mid Wales League, Welshpool Town and Caersws slipped off the pace but Llanidloes put in a solid performance to win 2-0 at Radnor Valley.

In Division Two, Waterloo Rovers returned from Knighton with the points, while it was a day to forget for Abermule. Forden United picked up a useful point at Borth despite going 2-0 down.
