Llanidloes Town have opened up a three-point lead at the top of the MMP Mid Wales League Division One, with a 5-2 win at Tywyn Bryncrug.

Title rivals Welshpool Town were held by Builth Wells and Berriew dropped points at Aberaeron, while Carno and Kerry were big winners at Hay St Mary’s and Llansantffraid. Caersws were not in action this weekend.

In Division Two, Abermule showed no mercy to struggling Knighton Town by smashing them 10-2, while Churchstoke lost 4-0 at leaders Penparcau.

Llanrhaeadr continue to set the pace in the JD Cymru North following a superb 2-1 victory over Rhyl on Saturday.

Goals on 21 and 23 minutes from Marc Griffiths sent the villagers into a 2-0 lead, but when Rhyl pulled one back seven minutes later the team pulled together to fend off a second and secure three points to give them a three-way share of the top spot.

Guilsfield made it back-to-back Mid Wales wins after returning from the coast with a 3-1 win at Penrhyncoch thanks to goals from Sam Litchfield, Adam Davies (penalty) and Jake Cook.

Llanfair United bounced back from their heavy Guilsfield defeat with a well-earned point in a 2-2 draw with Corwen.
