Final A Step Too Far For Montgomery

Montgomery's super season finally ran out of steam in the Spar League Cup Final at Llanidloes last night.

Berriew proved too strong for the second division champions winning 5-2 after tiring legs caught up with Montgomery in the second half after the sides went in 2-2 at half time.

Will Thomas was Berriew's hero, hittting a hat-trick.Montgomery took an early lead through Ross Harris but Thomas levelled from the penalty spot before Stuart Buckley Robins restored Monty's lead. Martin Ziemen then netted a wonder goal from 40 yards to take the game into the scond half.
