Football matches across Mid Wales will pause for a minute’s silence this weekend in memory of a footballing stalwart who has sadly died.
Bob Williams passed away this week in his sleep to end a long association with the local game, which included a spell as chairman of Llanrhaeadr and being current President of the Mid Wales League.
Meanwhile, on the pitch, the newly rebranded ‘pryamid’ will kick off with Newtown taking on Cefn Druids tonight in the JD Cymru Premier.
A step down the ladder and Guilsfield are also in action tonight at Prestatyn in the freshly named JD Cymru North. Llanfair United and Llanrhaeadr are both in action at home tomorrow.
Tomorrow sees the MMP Mid Wales League continue into game day three, while the Amateur League will also get underway with a full weekend of fixtures, starting tonight with a trio of Honda Two games.
