Sian on a new high

A Coleg Powis student has set a new season’s best to prove she can compete with the very best up and coming athletes in the country.

 

Ex-Newtown High School pupil Sian Swanson jumped 1.65m to win the Wales and the North West Colleges Athletics Competition at Deeside College. She also took third in the final of the Women’s 60m, clocking a time of 8.1 seconds.

 

Sian is an elite sports person and a member of the Welsh Athletics Squad. She attends Coleg Powys due to the flexibility that allows her to attend training camps at home and abroad whilst also providing her with the opportunity to gain a National Diploma in Sport.

 

Sian will leave this summer with three Distinction Grades and an offer to study at UWIC.
