Football finals, rugby and cricket

Sports fans will have the pick of summer and winter sports action this weekend with a full cricket programme being complemented by two football cup finals and a rugby semi-final.

Forden and Guilsfield Reserves resume their season-long rivalry on Friday in the final of the Village Cup in Llansantffraid, the same venue for the amateur league’s Consolation Cup final on Saturday between Trewern and Kerry Reserves.

In rugby, Cobra will be looking to nail down another cup final when they face Rhayader in the semi-final of the Cambrian Training Mid Wales Cup.

Meanwhile, the Henshalls Shropshire Cricket League reaches matchday four with Welshpool, Guilsfield, Newtown II and Montgomery II all at home.
