Robins' Euro dreams are over

Newtown tonight failed in their bid to win a place in the Europa League – losing 2-1 to Bala Town in the Welsh Premier League semi-final play-off.

Bala struck first in 40^th minute, moments after Jones made a great save from Rushton, Bala went up the other end and a cross was headed into the path of Kieran Smith, who headed home to break the deadlock.

Bala doubled the lead on 53 minutes when Sean Smith's cross into the box found Henry Jones who powered another header home from seven yards.

The Robins rallied in the second half but it took until the 89^th minute for Kenton Jones to crash home and they  couldn't level meaning Bala go through to the next week’s finalplay-off against either Caernarfon or Cardiff Met who meet tomorrow Saturday.
