It was a day for the champagne corks to pop as Montgomeryshire sides celebrated success on Saturday.
Llanfair United (right) came from behind twice to win 5-2 at Kerry and clinch the MMP Mid Wales League title on goal difference from Llanidloes Town. Josh Astley was the hero with four goals.
Llanrhaeadr Reserves claimed the area’s final title, winning the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League Division Two with a crushing 15-1 win at Kerry Reserves.
Meanwhile, in rugby, Cobra (right) overcame Rhyl 24-15 to finish a superb league season on top of the WRU Division Two (North).
And there were celebrations too for Welshpool who beat Bangor 36-18 away to book their second end-of season final against Rhyl in the North Wales Intermediate Plate on May 12 in Ruthin.
But it wasn’t all smiles for the area’s sportsmen, with the weather washing out the opening day of the local cricket season.
