Big night of Spar action

27/04/2011 @ 12:30

Llanrhaeadr can close the gap on Berriew at the top of the Spar Division One tonight when they host injury-hit Carno tonight (7pm, Wednesday).

The villagers are 10 points behind Berriew but have five games in hand with tonight’s coming against the league’s form side, Carno, who have not lost in 11 league matches.

But Carno travel to Llanrhaeadr bolstered by reserve players tonight with injuries and unavailability ruling our five regulars.

Also in Division One, Llansantffraid Village take on Dyffryn Banw and Builth Wells host Bow Street. Berriew, meanwhile, entertain Llanidloes Town in the quarter final of the League Cup.

In Division Two, there’s a big local derby when Kerry host Abermule looking to avenge the 1-0 defeat earlier in the month while Llanfyllin take on Four Crosses. Both matches have a 7pm kick off.

Amateur League action

Two goals each for strikers Phil Turnbull and Sam Griffiths saw Guilsfield overcome Carno Reserves 6-1 away. A Luke Francis strike from 25 yards and another from man-of-the-match Vinny Davies clinched the three points to move Guilsfield third in Division One.
