Montgomery’s season has gone from great to even better after booking a place in the final of the inaugural ER Jenkins Division Two Cup.
Clive McNamee’s men overcame a resilient Bont side 2-0 and now face Abermule in the final, probably at Berriew FC.
Meanwhile, Waterloo Rovers’ frustrating season continued at Dyffryn Banw who picked up a valuable 1-0 win in Division One. In Division Two, Montgomry’s hopes of being confirmed champions were dashed when Rhosgoch won 2-1 at Aberaeron to stay in the hunt.
In the League Cup quarter final, Llansantffraid Village crashed out 4-3 at Bow Street.
Huws Gray Alliance
Guilsfield snapped their three-game losing streak with a hard-earned 2-1 win over Rhayader. Mark Davies impressed once again with a cracking strike in the third minute to put them 1-0 up but Nick Evans equalized six minutes later. But Guilsfield applied plenty of second half pressure and John Harris popped up on the back stick to calmly convert the decisive winner.
Caersws continued their end of season romp with a 3-1 at Rhydymwyn. Scott Williams, Marc Griffiths and Graham Evans all scored in the first half for the Bluebirds who move back into the top six.
Technogroup Welshpool are signing out in style. The relegated side drew 1-1 at Rhyl after Dave Swanick gave them a half time lead. They were denied an unlikely victory though when Seb Walker leveled with two minutes to spare.
