Llandloes Town missed out on the chance to go top of the MMP Mid Wales league after being held to a 1-1 draw by Llanfair United.

The goals came in quick succession in the second half, leaving the Daffs one point behind Caersws, and Llanfair hovering just behind the leading pack.

In the second division, Montgomery moved into third place with a 3-0 win over the Aberystwyth students, while Four Crosses left it late to beat Dyffryn Banw, 3-2.

It was a decent day for local clubs in the Emrys Morgan Cup with Guilsfield Reserves and Bishop’s Castle winning big on the road and Llanrhaeadr Reserves and Llanymynech also securing safe passage through.
