Three of the area’s MMP Mid Wales League clubs will be going for a Welsh Cup upset this weekend when the second round throws up some interesting ties.
Leaders Caersws will travel to Huws Gray Alliance giants Rhyl looking to snap a disappointing run, while Berriew go to the league’s bottom side Prestatyn.
Llanfair United face a Porthmadog side who looked impressive when they beat Guilsfield last Saturday. Guilsfield will be hoping to avoid an upset of their own when they host Nantlle Vale.
In league action across the area this weekend, Newtown host Llanelli in the JD Welsh Premier hoping to build on their decent opening quarter of the season.
With several of the leading group not in league action, Llanidloes and Welshpool Town will be hoping to strengthen their positions at the top end of the MMP Mid Wales League.
There’s a big match in Division Two with Waterloo Rovers and Montgomery Town locking horns.
Central Wales Cup action sees a mouth-watering derby between Four Crosses and Llanymynech, while in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League, Guilsfield Reserves can open up a lead at the top with Forden United involved in League Cup action.
