Newtown continue to impress in the JD Welsh Premier after holding leaders The New Saints to a draw on Saturday.
Ethan Jones put The Robins ahead in the 10th minute, and it wasn’t until the 75th minute that Greg Draper pulled the border club level.
Meanwhile, Llanfair United, Berriew and Four Crosses are into the fourth round of the FAW Trophy after hard earned derby victories.
Llanfair came away from Caersws with a 2-1 win despite falling behind in the fourth minute. But it was Bluebirds old boy Karl Seliaerts that did the damage, netting twice to send Llanfair through.
Berriew booked their place with a 2-0 win at Carno thanks to goals from Joe Haycock and Ismail Ozdemir.
Four Crosses are through to the last 32, beating Machynlleth 5-0 with goals from Harry Davies, Josh Thomas, Paul Bache, Aaron Thorpe and Ollie Jones.
It means three local teams stay in the competition after Llansantffraid Village, Churchstoke and Llanidloes Town went out.
Guilsfield threw away a two-goal lead to share the spoils at Holywell Town in the Huws Gray Alliance. Sam Litchfield and Steve Blenkinsop had given Guilsfield the half-time lead.
In the MMP Mid Wales League, Kerry were beaten in Division One and Abermule drew 1-1 win Rhayader in the second division.
