Revival grinds to a halt

17/04/2011 @ 07:18

Newtown's recent revival was halted as they lost 2-1 at Richmond Park to Carmarthen Town.
It was a real case of after the Lord Mayor's Show for the Robins following a run of three wins as they missed the chance to all but secure their Welsh Premier League future.
Tomi Morgan's Carmarthen boosted their own hopes of a chnace in the Euro play-offs with two goals inside two minutes from Tim Hicks in the 59th and Nicky Palmer in the 60th minutes.
Manager Andy Cale again mad three substitutions sending on Blain, Price and Partridge after 78 minutes but it was not until the 93rd minute that Sam Bailey managed to breach the home side's defences for a consolation goal.
With Bala picking up a point against Airbus on Friday night Saturday's home game with Aberystwyth is now vital as Bal take on Carmarthen.
The final game of the season sees Newtown at Auirbus while Bala are at home to relegated Haverfordwest in must win games.
Newtown: D.Roberts, L.Hartshorn, P.Keddle, M.Jackson(D.Blain), S.Sutton, A.Worton, M.Cooke, S.Bailey, C.Whitfield(J.Price), S. Jones, R.Millington(G.Partridge).
