Clubs call it quits

A second club has withdrawn from the Mid Wales League, reducing the number of clubs in the two divisions to 28.

Brecon Northcote, who finished third in division two last season, have withdrawn a week after Knighton pulled the plug on their participation in the top flight.

Caersws Reserves have also folded after struggling to attract a manager for the season but have vowed to come back next season.

A spokesperson for Brecon Northcote said: “We can only apologise for this drastic action, the vast majority of the club are deeply disappointed in the actions of the various players who have only aided this demise from third place in MWL2 to barely finding a team to play each week.

“If our apologies could be sent to each member club, especially those who are affected by the expulsion of our results.”
