Cale preparing for tough trip

14/04/2011 @ 06:08

Andy Cale was tonight putting the finishing touches to his plans for Saturday's tough trip to Carmarthen.
The trip follows the club's best spell of the season, three straight wins. But Cale knows his young side were bullied out of their last clash with Tomi Morgan's side, losing 1-0 at home against 10 men.
"Carmarthen were simply too strong and too physiacl even when down to 10 and completely dominated the game," he said. "We have to be ready for that on Saturday.
"They are the only team that we have not looked capable of beating since the league split but our form in the last three weeks has been good and I think we travel with a real chance."
Victory will put the Robins above Carmarthen but defeat could put the club right back in the relegation dogfight with Bala.
The good news for both Newtown and Carmarthen is that Bala take on Airbus on Friday night and both managers will be keeping a very close eye on that result. A defeat for Bala and a win for Newtown would take the Robins six points clear of the bottom two with only two games to play.
But a win for Bala and defeat at Carmarthen could see Newtown back to just one place off the bottom.
Cale is expecting to have a full strength squad available after taking Michael Jackson off as a precautionary measure last week.
