26/08/2018 @ 08:45

Caersws and Kerry enjoyed goal bonanzas to pick up the two biggest wins of the season to date.

Caersws kept their MMP with Norman Lloyd Mid Wales League 100% record intact with a thumping 10-0 win over Churchstoke. But Kerry went five better, trouncing bottom side Knighton 15-0. Llanidloes Town and Llanfair United maintained their winning starts to the season too.

Meanwhile, Newtown picked up a useful point on the road at Llandudno in the Welsh Premier in a game where both sides had their chances to win.

In the Huws Gray Alliance, Llanrhaeadr chalked up their third win in four games to join the early season pacesetters near the top of the Huws Gray Alliance.

Despite being many ‘pundits’ choice to go down, the village side have shown stunning early season form and returned from Anglesey with a 3-2 win thanks to a brace from Marc Griffiths and one from Khyam Wyton.

Guilsfield bounced back from two defeats by edging past Gresford Athletic 1-0 on Friday night with Chris Cathrall scoring the only goal.

Abermule got back to winning ways in the MMP/NL Division Two with a 4-1 win at Dolgellau, but there were home defeats for Waterloo Rovers and Dyffryn Banw.

In the amateur league match of the day, Guilsfield Reserves beat reigning champions Bishop’s Castle 4-3.
