The big kick-off!

12/08/2018 @ 10:09

Local clubs enjoyed a tremendous opening day in the Huws Gray Alliance as the football season kicked off this weekend.

Following a bizarre delay to enable a last minute grass-cut, Llanrhaeadr beat heavyweights Rhyl on their return to the league with Marc Griffiths bagging the only goal in the 12th minute.

Guilsfield got off to a winning start too with Robbie James and Andy Ford on the scoresheet at Conwy Borough.

There were wins for Caersws, Berriew, Welshpool Town, Llanfair United and Llanidloes Town in the MMP with Norman Lloyd Mid Wales League Division One. In Division Two, Four Crosses hit five at Hay St Mary’s and Waterloo Rovers picked up a point against Rhayader. The spoils were shared between Abermule and Montgmery.
