Adrian Foulkes was in imperious form as he smashed 89 runs to help Llanidloes overcome their Division Four Montgomeryshire rivals Guilsfield.
Foulkes and Ethan Owen (58no) batted well to steer the hosts through to 227-4, a score that proved out of reach for Guilsfield with James Denham and William Denham taking three wickets each as the reply ended on 108.
Newtown were pulled closer to the bottom two in the Premier League after a defeat at home to mid table Ludlow.
After deciding to bat, Ryan Davies (32) top scored for Newtown as they set a low target of 130 from 46.2 overs, and despite some fine bowling from opener Tom Anderson (3-18), Ludlow made their way to victory for the loss of seven wickets, also in 46.2 overs.
Welshpool were reduced to 63 all out after electing to bat first at Division One leaders Allscot.
Only skipper Russell Cadwallader (22) made runs of note as as the mid to late order collapsed around him, allowing the hosts to ease through to a 10-wicket win.
A century partnership between Aaron Ruff-Cock and Tim Davies saw Montgomery recover from a poor start to beat Wheaton Aston by 96 runs in Division Two.
With Thomas Corfield, Ieuan Griffiths and Andrew Barker falling for single figures Montgomery found themselves 23-3, but a well-played 60 from Ruff-Cock and an unbeaten 65 from Davies saw the Lymore-based club recover to 179-6.
In reply, Montgomery dismissed Wheaton Aston for 83 in the 33rd over with the wickets shared between Eddie Bennett (3-21), Alex Bromley (3-27), Ross Wilkinson (2-11) and Roman Currie-Jordan (2-5).
With two wickets to his name it was a dream first team debut for young Ross Wilkinson, who was named man-of-the-match for his efforts.
In the reserve divisions, Montgomery II were all out for 79 as they lost by 107 runs to Division One title-chasing St Georges.
The Telford-based side batted first and posted 186-8, but Montgomery’s reply was poor, despite a valiant 20 from Dave Jones.
Newtown II were dismissed for 97 chasing Ludlow II’s 207-4 in Division Two.
