A bumper 24 teams are set to play in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League next season, it was confirmed at last night’s annual meeting.

Llanwddyn have indicated that they would like to return after an absence of several years, while reserve teams for Llansantffraid Village, Waterloo Rovers and Four Crosses have also thrown their hats into the ring.

However, the final make-ups of league one and league two have yet to be settled due to 10 teams currently in the top flight and 14 in the second.

Also at last night’s meeting, Rob Edwards of Llanfechain was named player-of-the-year and Llanfyllin Reserves received the sportsmanship trophy.

All the main officials were re-elected.
