Newtown opened up a three point gap over relegation rivals Bala in their battle for Welsh Premier League survival and much of the credit must go to manager Andy Cale - not forgetting man of the match Shane Sutton.
With his side staring defeat in the face Cale made a brave tactical switch and sent on three substitutes in the 71st minute to snatch what might prove an invaluable victory.
Cale called for calm before the match but diehards in the crowd of 181 were fearing the worst when Chris Mason fired home a 59th minute penalty for the Lakesiders.
Shane Sutton was outsanding, domninating the defence and managing to clear the ball off the line three times to keep the Robins in this game.
Craig Whitfield emerged from the dugout to level things up from the penalty spot on 74 minutes and on 89 minutes with the Robins piling on the prerssure former Welshpool favourite Ross Jeffries put the ball into his own net to see all three points going to Latham Park.
